‘A Family Affair’:
Born in Long Island, New York, Mike Edrick grew up a normal teenage boy. Raised by middle-class, east coast parents, Mike spent his childhood years playing sports, and was center of his high school football team. At the age of 10, Mike discovered horses when his Uncle introduced him to polo, and has hardly looked back since.
Before opening his own stable with his wife and sister-in-law, Mike Edrick worked at Lakeside Riding Academy in Hempstead, Long Island. He drew his philosophy from mentor Gordon Wright, and practiced good horsemanship and discipline in his riding and training. Mike Edrick’s many accomplishments include numerous hunter, jumper, and equitation championships, both on the East coast and West.
In 1969, Mike Edrick moved with his family to California, where he opened up Mike Edrick Stables in Bell Canyon, prior to relocating in Agoura Hills. Alongside his wife and sister-in-law, Mike Edrick expanded his business through the years, offering a training experience unique from all others. Mike prides himself on developing the whole person, and builds confidence in each rider, whether training for competition or pleasure. His warm fatherly influence and straight-forward training approach have maintained a loyal client base, some who have been with Mike Edrick Stables for 25+ years.
Mike currently lives in Woodland Hills with his wife, Lolly Edrick, and four dogs. (Pictured above: wife Lolly Edrick, and daughters Megan and Jennifer Edrick)
